Monica was born and raised in Bay City, Michigan. From an early age she developed an interest in both the fine arts and performing arts. After graduating high school, Monica attended the California Pacific College of the Performing Arts as a member of the Young Americans. She later received her Associates in Art and Design from Delta College and continued her studies at the New York Film Academy with a focus on musical theatre.
Monica has an array of talents. To generalize her she is an artist- one that excels in acrylics, musical theatre and transforming the mundane into art. Her artwork has been displayed in several venues and publications. Monica was also the woman behind Bella Fortuna North’s dinner theatre in Lake Leelanau, MI.
Her passions include the performing arts, fine arts, working with children, traveling, and volunteering.
Monica’s love for helping others and traveling has taken her all around the world. San Francisco, CA where she was running a United Way Alternative Spring Break program. Guatemala and Uganda to work with children, clean up schools, teach self sustainability practices, and interview students for scholarships. Most recently, she completed a 6 month contract with Carnival Cruise Lines entertaining and woking with people from all over the world.
Her travels and life experiences have influenced her art immensely. Currently Monica resides in Ypsilanti and is one of the newest members of our new Ypsi studio. She is continually exploring new mediums, styles, and bringing that passion for the Michigan way of life to the forefront.
