Anna S
Anna was born in Grand Rapids, MI where she hails from a long line of bare-knuckle boxing champions and sheep herders. She attended the University of Michigan’s School of Art and Design, receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2010. As an Undergraduate, her primary areas of focus were painting, photography, and film. After college, she moved to Detroit, where she lives and work as an artist, performer, and recluse. Her personal work often combines her areas of interest, overlapping painting, film and photography. Anna’s work thematically explores ideas of group dynamics, communication, psychopathology and taxidermy.
Anna shares her birthday with Horace, Lucian Freud, Mary Queen of Scots, Jim Morrison, Ozzy Osborne, and Nicki Minaj, which sums her personality up nicely.
